Festival of Lights

Within walking distance to the Zoo, was the Festival of Lights put on by the DWP. Normally, you drive your car through and look at all the lights, but we were there on pedestrians only night. Our camera didn't take the best photos, but we got a few cute ones. You enter by walking through a tunnel of lights, Maddy loved all the lights but passed out about half way through.

Zoo Nights

Some more photos from "Zoo Nights", you can't really tell, but there is fake snow falling around Maddy in the first photo.

First Photos with Santa Claus

One of the perks of being a member of the Zoo is being invited to Zoo Nights, this one was for the holidays. Maddy got to meet Santa and take her first photos with him. She stared at him for a few moments, Mike and I had to do a lot of jumping up and down to get her to look at the camera.

Swimming

Three weeks ago we took Maddy swimming for real this time. Her Uncle Kevin has access to a kiddie pool where he lives, and it was nice and warm. Maddy loved the water, and kicked her little feet together like a frog. I even dunked her under the water really quick, and she didn't seem to mind. She did try to drink the water a few times, so we made sure to keep her face out of the water as much as possible.

Sneak Peak

Here is a sneak peak picture of our new home! I do not plan to take any more pictures until we are all unpacked, so enjoy. Yes, that is a window on the wall that separates the living and family room. That wall used to be the wall to the back of the house, there is now a family room where the patio used to be. The family room has a wall of windows that looks out to the backyard. I know this picture doesn't show much :)

New High Chair

Knowing we'd soon have room for a full sized high chair, we invested in a nice new one. This is a Boon high chair, and has no crevices for food to hide in, makes for a quick clean-up. It also has a hydraulic lift, and wheels. We love it! (These pictures are in the condo, among all the moving boxes.)

Christmas Picture Outtakes

The weekend after Thanksgiving we took the babies over for Grandma Judy to get a picture for her Christmas letter this year. It was harder than we thought to get both girls looking happy and at the camera at the same time. Here are some of the ones that didn't make it, my favorite is the last one, they look like they were getting a little delirious at that point.

Sippy Cup

Maddy's first "sippy cup" (back in November) and she held it all by herself! This one was more of a training sippy cup with a nipple, she got half of the water in her mouth and the other half soaked her clothes :)

Posts I missed: LA Zoo

In early November, we became members of the Los Angeles Zoo. Somehow I forgot to blog about it, oops!

More Christmas

After Grandma and Grandpa Clay's house we headed over to Laurel, Josh and Bella's to celebrate with everyone. So much fun to have the cousins open their presents together. After that we headed to celebrate and eat crab dinner with the Kitanos, the camera didn't make it out of the bag at that point. It was a long day, but full of great first Christmas memories!

Santa Visits Madeline

Santa knew our house was all packed up, so he dropped off Madeline's presents at the Clay household. Grandma and Grandpa had breakfast waiting for us after we picked up our keys, and watched Madeline open her presents! Of course, the wrapping was as much of a hit as the presents.

Sold!

We got the keys to our house bright and early Christmas morning! We were so excited! These photos give you a little sneak peak to the outside of the house.

Packing Up

The move ended up happening very quickly, we got our keys about 3 weeks earlier than originally discussed with the sellers of our new house. This made for a quick pack up! Maddy didn't seem to mind much that we packed up her nursery and all her clothes and toys, we are still working on unpacking it all.
