Baby Daddy

Laurel made Josh a great shirt for when Bella was born!

Cousins

Maddy got to meet her cousin yesterday. She looks HUGE next to tiny Bella! One day they'll even out in size. These girls are going to have so much fun growing up so close in age to each other!

Baby Bella

Bella's official measurements at birth were: 6 lbs. 15 oz., 19 1/2 inches long, born at 10:04 am. She is beautiful and right now seems to have her Daddy, Josh's features. We were so excited to visit the new family of 3 yesterday in the hospital.  Mom, Dad and baby Bella are doing well, we are going to visit them again in about an hour.

Bella Anne Rexon

Bella Anne Rexon was born a little over an hour ago!

I was too excited to write down the specifics when Josh called, from what I can remember around 10:04 am, just under 7 pounds. Josh said she is beautiful, and Laurel only had to push for 1/2 an hour. Everyone is healthy!

We are going to visit in a couple hours, Maddy will seem huge next to her tiny cousin :)

p.s. I am so jealous that Laurel delivered 8 days before her due date...waiting past our due date made me crazy, but we're so happy this will give Laurel more time at home before school starts back in September!

There is a baby in there!

Peek-a-Boo!

Picture Albums

If you want to see more pictures, I upload all my photos to:

BabyHawk

I love our Baby Hawk carrier! It is a mei tai style baby carrier that is made of only fabric, and you tie around yourself and around the baby to hold her to your body. Ours is double sided, Mike and I each got to pick the fabric for "our" side, I don't have a picture of Mike's side yet. Maddy loves riding in it and falls asleep within seconds of being put into the carrier. The best thing about it is you have both hands free when she is in it, the straps hold her up and makes it possible to carry things.
These pictures were taken on our walk on the Redondo Beach Pier (where we got engaged!) today after lunch. Last time we walked down here it was one day before our due date with Maddy and we were trying to "walk" her out!

Pacifier

For the first time today, Maddy kept a pacifier in her mouth by herself! She tends to get fussy during car rides and we keep giving her a pacifier to distract her until we get to wherever we are going and can either change her, feed her or pick her up. Until today, we had to hold the pacifier in her mouth or else it would fall out. Today she kept it in by sucking all by herself, for a few minutes. Luckily I had the camera handy to document :) These pacifiers are neat because they are see through and you can look down the center of the nipple and see inside her mouth and how she is sucking on it.

Grandma & Grandpa Clay

Sleepyhead

One of her favorite places to sleep is on her daddy's chest, it is adorable to see, one of my favorite things!

Joe's Sushi

On Sunday, we joined Maddy's "Uncles" V, Danny and Alex at Joe's Sushi. This is a sushi restaurant that at least one of these guys is at every single weekend, literally. It is a 30 to 45 minute drive away, but so worth it for their all you can eat sushi! I hadn't been there since I got pregnant, so it was a special trip, especially bringing Maddy for her first trip.

Three Generations & a Cradle

The  cradle in these photos has a funny story! Supposedly my grandfather, Alonzo Clay, found this cradle at a garage sale and brought it home...and my father was born 9 months later. My grandparents were in their 40's and already had 2 almost teenaged boys, but this cradle made them want to have one more baby!

The cradle was being stored at my grandparents still when Laurel was born, but was brought to California by my Dad by the time I was born, and was being stored in my parents garage and brought out for Madeline. That makes 3 generations that have used this cradle! It'll come in handy for my parents, especially after Bella (Laurel and Josh's daughter-to-be) is born and they have 2 grandchildren.

Growing...

Maddy has officially outgrown her newborn sized clothing, I tried to put one on her last Friday, but it was way too tight around the arms, pulled down too far at the neck and her diapered rear end was hanging out. I'm so excited to dress her in her 0-3 month old clothes, we were gifted so many cute clothes and of course couldn't resist buying every cute one we saw!

More One Month Photos

Some more photos from June 24th, Maddy's one month birthday. I still can't believe she is getting so old! I also posted the best photo I could get that shows off the natural highlights in her hair. I have had a couple of people seriously ask me if I had her hair highlighted...I know we live in L.A., but who would go that far!
