Out and About
The next shopping trip I wore her in her Baby Hawk carrier and she was sound asleep the whole time. We went to Target tonight, kept her in the car seat, and she got fussy midway through our shopping and I ended up holding her for the rest of the trip, think baby wearing is the way to go for now on.
We have our first dinner out tomorrow, should be interesting to see how we do...

First Bath
Photos are in reverse order, I haven't figured out how to move them around yet :(
Maddy had her first sponge bath a few days after coming home from the hospital. Her umbilical hadn't fallen off yet at that point and couldn't get it wet. Although she looks frightened in the photo above, she didn't cry at all.
Her umbilical fell off on her 1 week birthday, leaving her with an "innie" belly button that is now fully healed. She has had a few more baths in her baby bathtub, and today got a real bath in the real bath tub with mom. She loved it, and we think she may be a future swimmer, I wasn't going to let go of her yet, but I think if I did she may have floated! When laid back she would stretch out her whole body and kick her legs, can't wait until she is old enough to go in the swimming pool.
Much Needed Update
Well, I guess you can say we've been a little busy! Maddy is such a good baby (knock on wood), but I still haven't been able to get here to update until now.
Maddy is now 2 1/12 weeks old, and growing like a weed. She feeds every 1 to 3 hours, sometimes going 4 hours when in a deep sleep. She is nocturnal, wanting to eat at least every hour in the middle of the night. Mommy is going to start pumping as soon as some replacement parts come for our electric pump, and then Daddy will be able to help out with some of the feedings.
We get our best sleep of a few hours straight somewhere in between the hours of 6am to 2pm, and 6 pm to 10 pm. These are not the best napping hours for Mommy, but I will take it whenever I can get it.
We started taking her out and about in the last week, she has been to Babies r Us, Target, the grocery store and hazel's 1st birthday party.
On June 5th, we took Maddy to her first pediatrician appointment, her doctor is very nice and and said she is measuring above average for height and length. She weighed 8 1/2 pounds and measure 21 1/4 inches, gaining 1/2 pound since birth, and measuring 1/4 inch longer (although, I'm sure this is due to different people taking the measurements). Her doctor gave us the ok to use a pacifier and introduce a bottle to her since she is feeding so well. Her next appointment is in July, when she is 2 months old, and she will get her first round of immunizations.
