Maddy is THREE!

Blowing out her candles on her third birthday!

At her Minnie Mouse family
birthday party (in dress up clothes).

Our dear Madeline Mae turned three years old on May 24th! She is full of personality these days, and becoming such a 'big girl'.

Her 3 year old stats:
  • 37 inches tall
  • 33 pounds
  • size 3T, some 4T size clothes
  • size 8/8.5 size shoe
  • 3T pull-ups
  • bedtime 8:30/9:00
  • wake up time 6:15-6:45ish

LOVES:
Disney princesses, bubbles, balloons, Minnie Mouse, Disneyland, Peppa Pig (British pig cartoon), Caillou, dancing, singing songs, reading books, somersaults, parachutes, tunnels, play doh, coloring/drawing, walking her baby doll stroller up and down the street, sushi, noodles, pizza, cooked peas, broccoli, playing in backyard with water, and more...

She takes her backpack
and lunch box to preschool
class every Friday.
Walking to the car
 with Daddy
to go to class.
She loves her 3 classes she attends during the week: Sing, Dance, Play with Teacher Suzie on Monday, Library Class on Wednesday, and what we call Pre-School Class on Friday. She attends these classes with either Daddy or Grandma Jane and we hope to transition her into a part-time, couple days a week 'real' preschool class this fall. She is still deathly shy, but is making progress to become more independent. The key is to finding teachers that are comfortable with timid kids. We just dropped our Thursday class because the teacher was taking Maddy's shyness as defiance against her and kept calling her out in front of the other students in the class. She has a few behaviors we are trying to discourage that stem from her being anxious in situations, biting and licking, the good news is she does it to us (mom and dad) and not to other kids. Our pediatrician assured us it is normal behavior and common in 'shy' toddlers.

Hazel and Maddy
in dress up clothes.
She loves her cousin Bella, and her 'cousin' Hazel, and gets so excited when she knows she will see them soon,
"They here?"

Cute Cousins!
She went through a stage for a few months where she would only wear ballet clothes and skirts. Luckily now she will wear anything, and even likes dressing like daddy: khaki shorts, tee shirt, high top sneakers, baseball hat.

Our very serious
faced big girl!
She continues to remind us that she is a "big girl" and often in the morning will ask "I got bigger?" and it does in fact look like she is sprouting up in inches over night! She is learning to recognize some letters and numbers, and can do matching letter games in her preschool class. We love you Madeline Mae! You've given us so much love and joy over the last 3 years, and are so proud of the little girl you have become so far!
