Madeline turned 8 months old today, so old! This is her first month-birthday (is there a better name for this?) in our new house. She is doing new things everyday now, and will be on the move soon! When she was sitting in the rocker today to take her 8 month photos, she figured out how to move her body to make the rocker go back and forth, such a smart girl!
I've been sick since I got home from work on Friday, so Mike has been Mr. Mom all weekend, and has been doing a good job of taking care of his girls. Maddy loves her time with her Daddy!
Eight months finds Maddy:
- with her first tooth! That darned tooth finally came through over a week ago, it is her bottom right front tooth, and it is sharp! No signs of any other teeth yet.
- can get into the crawling position from sitting, all on her own
- finally lifts up her body with her arms
- not crawling yet (we are in no hurry, and hope she waits for us to finish unpacking and to baby-proof)
- can squirm her body over to things that are a few inches away from her
- starting to pull her body up when laying down (like a sit up)
- can repeat mama (Yah!)
- waves bye-bye (with her whole arm, not her hand)
- eats baby food 3 times a day, vegetables and fruit
- can feed herself puffed cereal pieces
- is on a bottle strike (will not take breast milk from anything but me), so while I work she gets water and baby food, luckily I only work part-time, so I'm not stressing over it
- wears size 3 diapers
- wears 6-12 month clothes, some 12 month pants
- shows stranger anxiety (the poor old man at the sushi restaurant that smiled at her and she cried)
- sticks out her bottom lip right before she cries when she is scared (it is so cute when she does this face, mean mommy thinks it is cute when her baby is scared)
- loves to pull hair
- interacts with her toys a lot more
- solid poop (enough said)
- sometimes shivers like she has the chills when she pees (totally freaked us out, thank goodness for google)
There is no hurry to keep growing up so fast, we love you Madeline!
Love,
Mom and Dad

8 month pictures are soooo cute! We'll have to come over and hang out more so she doesn't have stranger anxiety with me!
